Government Supports
- BCEBW – The B.C. Emergency Benefit for Workers (BCEBW) is a one-time, tax-free $1,000 payment for British Columbians whose ability to work has been affected as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Most people who are eligible for the new federal Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) are also eligible for the BCEBW, including those who have run out of employment insurance (EI) benefits and subsequently qualify for the CERB. To be eligible for the BCEBW, people must:
- Have been a resident of British Columbia on March 15, 2020;
- Meet the eligibility requirements for the CERB;
- Have been approved for the CERB, even if they have not received a benefit yet;
- Be at least 15 years old on the date of application;
- Have filed, or agree to file, a 2019 B.C. income tax return; and
- Not be receiving provincial income assistance or disability assistance.
- Starting May 1, applications can be made online, at any time, and a link to the application portal will be available at: www.gov.bc.ca/workerbenefit

COVID-19 Update
With Info from REACH Community Health Centre
While community transmission is on the decline, it is important to remember that there are still many unknowns about the COVID-19 coronavirus, and there is uncertainty regarding whether a person can contract the virus more than once. It is important that everyone continue taking safety precautions and persist in following the guidance of health authorities until we are explicitly informed that we are in the clear.
While COVID-19 testing is important for those that are ill or have been in contact with confirmed cases of COVID-19, testing too early can yield a false-negative. Even with symptoms, it may take up to two days for the virus to be detectable.
Those experiencing mild symptoms (cough, fever, difficulty breathing) should self-isolate for 14 days. If symptoms become more severe (i.e. shortness of breath, and other respiratory issues), please call the REACH Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) direct-line at 604-216-3138 before coming into the clinic, and they will give you further direction.
Call 9-1-1- if you require immediate medical treatment.

- 2 tbsp Panko bread crumbs
(regular bread crumbs okay) - Salt and pepper to taste

- Peel and half carrots, creating sticks. Add to a large bowl. Pour on the olive oil, minced garlic, Parmesan, bread crumbs, and salt and pepper. Toss ingredients to coat the carrots.
- Arrange coated carrots on a large sheet, and bake 20-25 minutes until tender. Flip halfway through baking.
- Remove from oven, and serve. Top with parsley, if desired.
