Please note that information is changing on a daily basis, and while we do our best to ensure that the information we provide is up to date, we encourage our residents to go to the official channels to inquire further regarding these services.

Community Supports
New Quarantine Conflict Resolution Service (QCRS) – This new service is being provided by Mediate BC in collaboration with LandlordBC to help with residents with increased neighbour conflicts due to COVID-19. With BC residents sheltering in place, new challenges are affecting tenants, roommates, and neighbours who are suddenly in much closer proximity during all hours of the day. Noises that have never been an issue before are suddenly constant sources of irritation. Add the increased anxiety of social isolation and it’s not at all surprising that minor conflicts are becoming much bigger problems. The QCRS has more than 35 mediators available and service is available quickly. Posters with information are available at your building’s bulletin board or lobby.

Activities & Recipes
As we become more accustomed to an indoor lifestyle during this time, it is important that we continue to stay entertained and active. It is a great time to try out new things and develop new hobbies. As such, we will be attaching an activities page to these weekly briefs to provide some different forms of entertainment. Even if these activities are not usually something you would do, we encourage you to try – who knows, you might just like it!
Sudoku Puzzle
Recipe: Baked Bean Stew
Ingredients
- 3 cups dried pinto, red or black beans, cooked
- ½ cup canned tomatoes, pureed or chopped, with juice
- ¼ onion, chopped
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 2 tbsp molasses or brown sugar
- 2 tsp chipotle sauce or any chili sauce
Instructions
- Mix all the ingredients in to a pot and heat on stove on medium heat until the beans are warmed through.
- Make sure to stir the pot every so often so that the ingredients do not stick to the bottom of the pot.
- Once the juices thicken (about 5 mins), it is ready to serve!
- Serve with rice, or just in a bowl. For an English-style breakfast, try spreading the beans over toast. Or throw them in a burrito, or scramble them with eggs, or stir-fry with onions and bell pepper.
- Optional toppings: salsa, scallions, fresh cilantro, avocado, tomato, crumble bacon, chunks of ham.
