April 24, 2020
As always, we thank everyone for diligently doing their part: physical distancing, frequent hand-washing, and staying home are helping keep our community safe. Continuing to take these precautions is working.
Office Updates
- The Brightside office remains closed, but staff continue to manage business operations remotely. We want to hear from you, so please continue to communicate with us via email (info@brightsidehomes.ca) or by leaving a voicemail at 604-684-3515. We continue to receive high call volumes and thank you for your patience while we work hard to return everyone’s emails/calls in a timely fashion.
- If you do not have access to the internet or a telephone and wish to communicate with Brightside, please drop us a note in the building manager’s drop-box located in the lobby of your building. The drop-boxes are emptied weekly, and we will respond to your inquiry as soon as possible.
Rent
- Last week’s communication (Brief #04) included some pertinent information about Brightside’s Rent Relief Plan. If you have not had a chance to review “FAQ” page about the relief plan, we encourage you to do so. If you would like a digital copy of that briefing (or any other briefing), please send your request to info@brightsidehomes.ca.
- “Rent week” is fast approaching; May rent is due on or before May 1st. Please make advance arrangements to provide your rent payment on time by depositing rent cheques into the drop boxes of your building or the drop box located at the entrance of the Brightside office.
Operations
- We ask for residents’ cooperation in not removing Brightside notices and signage from common areas. These notices are intended to provide critical information for all residents in the building – removing these notices can negatively impact the health and safety of your neighbours, and may compromise the safety of your home and community.
- To ensure the safety and health of both residents and staff, Brightside will only be conducting emergency repairs until further notice, without exception. Additionally, when we perform emergency plumbing repairs, residents will be required to vacate their unit while repairs are completed.
- Suite turnover (renovations) will gradually resume in the near future. All tradespeople will be instructed to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in common areas/corridors, and not to take the elevator with residents.
- We would like to emphasize once again the importance of being vigilant in reporting any suspicious activity to police. While we do everything we can to ensure the safety and security of our community, residents also play an important role in helping ensure the community remains safe and secure.
While we will continue to provide you with relevant and timely information as often as is possible and practical, you may also be seeking information that is beyond the scope of the Brightside community. It is important for everyone to ensure the information we consume is from reputable sources such as government authorities and newspapers or news broadcasts. This is the best way to learn about how COVID-19 spreads so as to minimize the chances of unknowingly spreading it.
Once again, we request residents that are confirmed to have COVID-19 to inform Brightside immediately. Your privacy is of paramount importance to Brightside and this information will be taken in confidence to help ensure protective measures are taken.
*If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, you should contact 8-1-1 to get medical advice, or call 9-1-1 if you require immediate medical treatment.
If you are experiencing extraordinary hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we invite you to contact our office by phone or by email. At this time, there are community and local supports that are becoming available. You can contact us by email at info@brightsidehomes.ca, or leaving a voicemail at 604-684-3515.
If you would like to receive a digital copy of these briefings, please send us an email at info@brightsidehomes.ca and we will include you in the next email distribution.
Practice social distancing, wash your hands often, and stay safe.
