Brightside’s proposal for 8725 French Street in Marpole was approved unanimously by Vancouver City Council on June 15, 2021, with a single abstention.
8725 French Street is Brightside’s fourth rezoning application appearing before Council in less than 12 months. This reflects what will be a combined 485 secured rental homes (282 net new homes) for renters in the City of Vancouver. Once all four redevelopments are complete, the new total of 1220 homes across Brightside’s 25 buildings will greatly increase Brightside’s capacity to provide affordable rental homes in North America’s least affordable city.
