Physical distancing and self-isolation are working. British Columbians have been doing their part to “flatten the curve,” and every day that we continue to diligently and frequently wash our hands, stay home as much as possible, and keep a distance of 6 feet from each other when we need to go out, means we are that much closer to getting back to “normal.” But we’re not there yet.
Prime Minister Trudeau as well as many provincial authorities and news sources have been talking about relaxing some restrictions and restarting the economy, but they have also been clear that this will not mean “business as usual,” nor will it be immediate. We must all be sure to continue to do our part to be sure we do not lose the tremendous progress we have made toward stopping the pandemic.
The Brightside community has been doing a fantastic job of helping keep our community, our city, our friends and loved ones safe and healthy, and we are here to support you. This week, we have new resources, activities, and a new “Self-Isolation door-hanger” to help you stay safe at home.
As always, we request residents that are confirmed to have COVID-19 to inform Brightside immediately. Your privacy is of paramount importance to Brightside and this information will be taken in confidence to help ensure protective measures are taken.
*Remember – if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, you should contact 8-1-1 to get medical advice, or call 9-1-1 if you require immediate medical treatment.
