1425 and 1451 East 12th Avenue are located in the Grandview-Woodland neighbourhood. Timbre and Harmony replace 57 units previously on the site with 157 new units of affordable, secured rental housing. Both buildings also offer low-end-of-market rental rates. All homes are one-bedrooms and studio units.
Rents that are geared to income at both Timbre and Harmony are available for eligible independent-living seniors aged 55+. The low-end-of-market homes have no age restrictions at either building, and are available for independent-living adults, couples, seniors, and urban singles, with numerous fully-accessible homes for people with physical disabilities.
The project is built to Passive House certification standards. Passive House is a standard for energy efficiency and yields a reduced carbon footprint. It results in ultra-low energy consumption buildings that require little energy for space heating and cooling.
