Resident Profile

Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Seniors

King’s Daughters is a low-rise wood-frame building offering bachelor and one-bedroom suites. The property does not receive government subsidies, so applicants do not need BC Housing registration numbers. Pets and smoking are prohibited.

A project for the Western Institute for the Deaf, with support and initial funding by the King’s Daughters Group, led to the opening of King’s Daughters Manor in 1973. The building was built with certain features specifically designed to meet the needs of Deaf residents; however, it also houses residents who are not Deaf. The property features an amenity room, shared laundry, and storage lockers. There are no balconies or assigned parking.
